Some skin tones will work perfectly with the shimmering gold and pink salt pans of Lake Eyre. Others might be more suited to the diffused pastel blues and pinks of a Port Hedland basin.

Likewise, someone’s wardrobe might be enhanced by the Channel Country green and gold maze of Diamantina River. While another’s will be completed by the luminously rich red earth of a Karratha landscape.

Scarf care

Simple tips to care for your scarf

Hand wash only
Use cool or lukewarm water with a gentle detergent made for silk or delicate fabrics.
Don’t soak for long
A few minutes is enough. Prolonged soaking can weaken fibres and fade colours.
Avoid rubbing or wringing
Gently swish the scarf in water. Twisting can damage and distort its shape.
Rinse thoroughly
Use cool water until all soap is gone.
Dry flat or hang carefully
Roll the scarf in a clean towel to remove excess water, then lay it flat or hang out of direct sun to avoid fading.
Iron on low heat
Iron while slightly damp, using the silk setting.
Store well
Fold neatly or roll loosely. Keep it in a cool, dry place away from moisture and strong light.
Perfume and hairspray
Apply them before putting on the scarf, as chemicals can stain or weaken silk.
Treat stains quickly
Blot, don’t rub. For heavily stained scarves, professional dry cleaning is safest.
