LAKE FROME - MUDNA

The rugged terracotta and tan shores of Lake Frome captured from above. In the outback of South Australia, Lake Frome is 100kms long, 40kms wide, yet incredibly its maximum depth is only 50cm. This spectacular yet unvegetated salt pan is mostly dry. According to the local Dreaming story, it was emptied of water by the Rainbow Serpent Akurra who stopped at a tributary to drink.

We recognise and acknowledge the Adnyamathanha people as the traditional custodians of this land.
