440 kms north of Adelaide in the Lake Torrens National Park, this stunning salt lake covers almost 6,000 square metres. Its local indigenous name means ‘shower of rain’ and on the rare occasions it fills - the birdlife populations of banded stilts, red-capped plovers and cinnamon quail-thrushes explode in numbers.

We recognise and acknowledge the Barngarla, Kokatha, Kuyani and Adnyamathanha people as the traditional custodians of this land.
